करेमि भंते! सामाइयं, सावज्जं जोगं पच्चक्खामि, जाव नियमं पज्जुवासामि, दुविहं तिविहेणं, मणेणं वायाए काएणं, न करेमि न कारवेमि, तस्स भंते! पडिक्कमामि, निंदामि गरिहामि अप्पाणं वोसिरामि.
કરેમિ ભંતે! સામાઇયં, સાવજ્જં જોગં પચ્ચક્ખામિ, જાવ નિયમં પજ્જુવાસામિ, દુવિહં તિવિહેણં, મણેણં વાયાએ કાએણં, ન કરેમિ ન કારવેમિ, તસ્સ ભંતે! પડિક્કમામિ, નિંદામિ ગરિહામિ અપ્પાણં વોસિરામિ.
Karemi Bhante! Samaiyam, Savajjam Jogam Pachchakkhami, Jav Niyamam Pajjuvasami, Duviham Tivihenam, Manenam Vayae Kaenam, Na Karemi Na Karavemi, Tassa Bhante! Padikkamami, Nindami Garihami Appanam Vosirami.
Revered one, I take up samayik; I give up all sinful activity for as long as I keep this vow, in two ways and by three means: by mind, by speech and by body I will neither do it nor have it done. Revered one, I turn back from past faults, I condemn them in myself and before the guru, and I cast off that self.
About Karemi Bhante Sutra
The vow taken to begin samayik. For as long as the vow lasts, one muhurt (48 minutes), the practitioner gives up all sinful activity of mind, speech and body, neither doing it nor having it done, and turns to equanimity. The same words, without a time limit, are the lifelong vow taken at diksha. Sthanakvasi and Terapanthi books word the time limit slightly differently.
